I Love Food

Oh yes I admit it...I love food.  I love the memories of holidays it holds.  I love gathering with friends over good food.  I love making new dishes for my family.  I love food.  Yet food doesn't love me as much as I do it or maybe food loves me too much!  It likes to stick around; you know it sticks with my hips, my stomach, my thighs.  It is because of this love of food that I am who I am today...overweight.

Well I got tired of being overweight and have decided to fight back find a way to love food and myself.  To enjoy the food I love while creating a healthy me.  To make this happen I am doing something I have had success with in the past, Weight Watchers.  I know what you're thinking *insert eye roll* but hear me out.  There is nothing...N.O.T.H.I.N.G. prohibited when doing Weight Watchers.  If you have the points you can have it.  Yet the program teaches you how to have a healthier relationship with food.  What?  You can't have a relationship with food.  Ohh yes you can.  You related to that fried chicken, burger, donut, chocolate cake.  I'm not saying you can't have those at all just that you need to plan for them.  That means sometimes most of the time I will choose a light yogurt with frozen raspberry instead of the double fudge chocolate chip ice cream.  Or I will choose chili lime flank steak with a side of steamed asparagus instead of the double bacon bbq cheese burger with a side of chili fries.

Eating healthy doesn't mean eating bland tasting meals with no appeal.  It doesn't resign you to eating white chicken breast, steamed cauliflower and white rice each and every night.  It means making a party of colors, flavors and textures on your plate and in your mouth.

It means finally having your love of food match the love you have for yourself.
